Hike to Yosemite Falls

The hike to Yosemite Falls is a must-do when visiting Yosemite National Park. The trail is about 7 miles round trip and offers stunning views of the waterfall. I did this hike last summer and it led to one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen. Make sure to bring plenty of water and wear comfortable shoes.

Drive to Glacier Point

If you’re not up for a hike, driving to Glacier Point is another way to see the incredible views of Yosemite. The drive is about an hour from Yosemite Valley and offers panoramic views of the park. I prefer going at sunset when the colors of the sky are reflected on the granite cliffs.

Visit Mariposa Grove

Mariposa Grove is home to over 500 giant sequoias, some of which are more than 3,000 years old. Walking among these massive trees is a humbling experience. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Explore Tuolumne Meadows

Tuolumne Meadows is a subalpine meadow located at an elevation of 8,600 feet. The meadow is surrounded by granite peaks and offers incredible hiking opportunities. I did the Cathedral Lakes hike and it was one of the most beautiful hikes I’ve ever done.

Go rock climbing

Yosemite is a world-renowned destination for rock climbing. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber, there are plenty of routes to choose from. I went rock climbing with a guide and it was a thrilling experience.

Take a dip in Tenaya Lake

Tenaya Lake is a beautiful alpine lake located along Tioga Road. The lake is crystal clear and perfect for swimming or kayaking. I recommend going early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Bike the Valley Loop Trail

The Valley Loop Trail is a 12-mile bike trail that takes you around Yosemite Valley. The trail is mostly flat and offers beautiful views of the park. I rented a bike from Yosemite Valley Lodge and had a great time.

Attend a ranger-led program

The rangers at Yosemite offer a variety of programs, including guided hikes, campfire talks, and stargazing events. These programs are a great way to learn more about the park and its history.

Enjoy a sunset at Tunnel View

Tunnel View is one of the most iconic viewpoints in Yosemite. From here, you can see El Capitan, Half Dome, and Bridalveil Fall. I recommend going at sunset when the colors of the sky are reflected on the granite cliffs.

Camp under the stars

Yosemite has 13 campgrounds, each with its own unique charm. Camping in Yosemite is a great way to immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the park at your own pace. I’ve camped at Upper Pines Campground and loved falling asleep to the sound of the Merced River.
