1. Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park
I’m an avid hiker and Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to explore. The park has over 350 miles of trails, ranging from easy strolls to challenging hikes up to mountain peaks. One of my favorite hikes is the Emerald Lake Trail, which takes you through stunning alpine meadows and past several beautiful lakes.
2. Skiing in Vail
Colorado is known for its world-class skiing and Vail is one of the best ski resorts in the state. With over 5,000 acres of skiable terrain, Vail has something for all skill levels. I’m not the most advanced skier, but I love taking the gondola up to the top of the mountain and skiing down the wide, groomed runs.
3. Exploring Mesa Verde National Park
Mesa Verde National Park is home to some of the most well-preserved cliff dwellings in the United States. It’s amazing to see how the Ancestral Puebloans built their homes into the cliffs over 700 years ago. I highly recommend taking a ranger-led tour to learn more about the history and culture of the area.
4. Visiting the Garden of the Gods
The Garden of the Gods is a stunning geological wonder located in Colorado Springs. The park features towering red rock formations that have been sculpted by wind and water over millions of years. It’s a great place to go for a hike or a picnic and take in the breathtaking views.

As I mentioned earlier, Colorado is home to the largest hot springs pool in the world. The train runs from Durango to the mining town of Silverton and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding wilderness. It’s a great way to experience the natural beauty of Colorado.

Denver has a thriving food and drink scene, with plenty of breweries, distilleries, and restaurants to explore. I love trying out new breweries and sampling local beers, and there are plenty to choose from in Denver. Some of my favorite spots include Great Divide Brewing Company and Ratio Beerworks.
