As a huge fan of Stardew Valley, I’ve spent countless hours trying to grow the best crops possible. After lots of trial and error, I’ve discovered some tips and tricks that can help you get quality crops too.
Why Quality Crops Matter
Quality crops not only look better, but they also sell for more money and are better for cooking. Plus, getting high-quality crops is necessary for completing certain community center bundles and quests.
Tip #1: Use Fertilizer
One of the easiest ways to improve the quality of your crops is to use fertilizer. Fertilizer can be crafted or purchased from Pierre’s General Store. Apply it to your crops before they mature for the best results.
Tip #2: Water Your Crops Every Day
Watering your crops every day is essential for their growth and quality. Make sure to also water them in the morning, as they won’t grow if they’re watered at night.
Tip #3: Use Quality Sprinklers
If you have a lot of crops, using quality sprinklers can save you time and effort. Quality sprinklers water a 3×3 area and can be crafted or purchased from the Dwarf.
Tip #4: Pay Attention to Seasons
Each crop has a specific season in which it grows best. Planting crops in the wrong season can result in poor quality or no growth at all.
- Spring: strawberries, green beans, cauliflower
- Summer: blueberries, melons, peppers
- Fall: cranberries, pumpkins, yams
