10 Best Things to Do in Philly
As a Philly native, I know all the amazing things this city has to offer. From the iconic Liberty Bell to the delicious cheesesteaks, Philly has something for everyone. Here are the top 10 things to do in Philly that you won’t want to miss!
1. Visit the Liberty Bell
No trip to Philly is complete without seeing the famous Liberty Bell. I remember going on a school field trip to see it for the first time and feeling in awe of its history. Plus, it’s totally free!

2. Try a Philly Cheesesteak
Philly is known for its cheesesteaks, and for good reason. The combination of thinly-sliced beef, melted cheese, and a soft roll is a match made in heaven. My personal favorite spot is Pat’s King of Steaks, but everyone has their own opinion on the best spot!

3. Visit the Philadelphia Museum of Art

4. Explore Reading Terminal Market
Reading Terminal Market is a food lover’s dream. From fresh produce to artisanal cheese, there’s something for everyone. I love grabbing a roast pork sandwich from DiNic’s and a chocolate chip cookie from Famous 4th Street Cookies.

5. Walk around Old City
Old City is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Philly. The cobblestone streets and historic buildings make me feel like I’m transported back in time. Plus, there are plenty of cute shops and restaurants to explore.

6. See a Show at the Kimmel Center
The Kimmel Center is a beautiful performing arts venue that hosts a variety of shows, from Broadway musicals to symphony performances. I recently saw Hamilton here and it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

7. Visit the Philadelphia Zoo
The Philadelphia Zoo is a fun and educational experience for all ages. From lions to giraffes, there are plenty of animals to see. Plus, they have a new baby gorilla that is too cute for words!

8. Take a Stroll through Fairmount Park
Fairmount Park is one of the largest urban parks in the country, with over 2,000 acres of green space. It’s the perfect place to take a walk, have a picnic, or go for a bike ride. I love going in the fall when the leaves change colors.

9. Visit the Please Touch Museum
The Please Touch Museum is a children’s museum that is fun for adults too. With interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, it’s a great place to spend a rainy day. I love the Alice in Wonderland exhibit!

10. Tour Eastern State Penitentiary
Eastern State Penitentiary is a former prison that is now a National Historic Landmark. It’s a fascinating and eerie place to visit, with crumbling cell blocks and a haunting atmosphere. I did the Terror Behind the Walls haunted house here and it was definitely scary!
