Recently, I came across the Presidents Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration, a group of college and university leaders who are committed to increasing access to higher education for immigrants and creating a welcoming campus environment for all students.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_Presidents_Alliance_on_Higher_Education_and_Immigration\"><\/span>What is the Presidents Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Presidents Alliance is a national organization that brings together college and university leaders to improve access to higher education for immigrants, regardless of their immigration status. The Alliance believes that higher education is a fundamental right and that all students, regardless of their background, should have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_is_the_Alliance_important\"><\/span>Why is the Alliance important?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Immigrants make up a significant portion of the United States population, and many of them face significant barriers to accessing higher education. I have also seen the incredible potential that these students have and the contributions they can make to our society. Supporters of the Dream Act argue that these individuals should not be punished for the actions of their parents and that they should have the opportunity to pursue their educational and career goals.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_the_toolkit_for_supporting_undocumented_students\"><\/span>What is the toolkit for supporting undocumented students?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The toolkit is a resource created by the Presidents Alliance on Higher Education and Immigration that provides colleges and universities with information and guidance on how to support undocumented students.
