However, nothing has had as big of an impact as the COVID-19 pandemic. With schools closing and students forced to learn from home, the use of learning apps increased dramatically.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Rise_of_Learning_Apps\"><\/span>The Rise of Learning Apps<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>According to a recent survey, 85% of teachers in the United States reported using learning apps during the pandemic. This is up from just 46% before the pandemic. The use of learning apps has been a lifeline for many teachers and students, allowing them to continue learning despite the challenges presented by the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most popular learning apps during the pandemic has been Zoom. While it was originally designed as a video conferencing tool for businesses, it quickly became the go-to platform for virtual classrooms. Other popular learning apps include Google Classroom, Kahoot!, and Edpuzzle.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Real_Test\"><\/span>The Real Test<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>While the rise of learning apps has been impressive, the real test is whether they are effective in helping students learn. According to a study by the National Bureau of Economic Research, students who used learning apps during the pandemic did not experience any significant learning loss. This is a promising sign for the future of online education.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the effectiveness of learning apps can vary depending on the app itself and how it is used. As an educator, I have found that some learning apps are more effective than others.
