One approach that has proven to be highly effective is project based learning (PBL). In this article, I will share my experiences with PBL and explore how it has become a standard in online education.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_Project_Based_Learning\"><\/span>What is Project Based Learning?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Project based learning is a teaching approach that focuses on engaging students in real-world problems and challenges. Instead of traditional classroom instruction, PBL involves students in a hands-on, collaborative experience where they work together to solve a problem or create a product.<\/p>\n<p>Through PBL, students are able to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that are essential for success in the 21st century. PBL also helps students to see the relevance of their learning and how it can be applied in real-world situations.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why_is_Project_Based_Learning_Effective\"><\/span>Why is Project Based Learning Effective?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Research has shown that project based learning is highly effective in promoting student engagement and learning. According to a survey conducted by the Buck Institute for Education, 86% of teachers reported that PBL helped students to develop better collaboration skills, while 63% reported that it helped students to develop better critical thinking and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n<p>One of the key reasons why PBL is effective is because it is student-centered. Unlike traditional classroom instruction, PBL allows students to take ownership of their learning and to work at their own pace. The project involved research, planning, and collaboration, as well as hands-on work in the garden.<\/p>\n<p>Not only did my students learn about the science of gardening, but they also developed important skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
