They are the basis of life on earth and play a critical role in many areas, including energy, medicine, and agriculture.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_CC\"><\/span>What is C=C?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>C=C refers to a carbon-carbon double bond.
