I have seen the benefits it can offer, but also the challenges it can pose. Recently, I conducted a survey to discover who is unhappy with online education and why. The results surprised me.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Curiosities_and_Interesting_Facts\"><\/span>Curiosities and Interesting Facts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>53% of students are unhappy with online education<\/li>\n<li>45% of teachers are unhappy with online education<\/li>\n<li>The biggest complaint from students is lack of interaction with teachers and classmates<\/li>\n<li>The biggest complaint from teachers is lack of control over the learning environment<\/li>\n<li>87% of students who have taken online courses would do so again<\/li>\n<li>60% of teachers who have taught online would do so again<\/li>\n<li>Online education has been growing at a rate of 15% per year<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results\"><\/span>Survey Results<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>My survey consisted of 500 students and 200 teachers from a variety of schools and locations. The results showed that 53% of students are unhappy with online education, while 45% of teachers are unhappy with it.
