With the COVID-19 pandemic forcing schools to close, we have had to quickly adapt to virtual learning. However, online education has also brought some new challenges, especially in Miami Dade County Public Schools.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Challenges_of_Online_Education\"><\/span>The Challenges of Online Education<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Online education has its benefits, but it also presents several challenges. In Miami Dade County Public Schools, some of the most pressing threats to online education include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increased risk of cyberbullying and online harassment<\/li>\n<li>Difficulty in engaging students and keeping them motivated<\/li>\n<li>Lack of access to technology and internet for some students<\/li>\n<li>Increased screen time leading to eye strain, headaches, and other health issues<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results_and_Data_Analysis\"><\/span>Survey Results and Data Analysis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A survey conducted by the Miami Herald found that over 50% of parents in the county were concerned about their children&#8217;s mental health due to online learning. Some have thrived in the virtual environment, while others have struggled to stay motivated and engaged.
