You can also visit the nearby Columbia River Gorge for hiking and scenic views.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Seattle_Washington\"><\/span>Seattle, Washington<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Seattle is another city that&#8217;s easy to navigate on your own, with plenty of public transportation options and walkable neighborhoods. You can visit the iconic Pike Place Market, take a ferry ride to Bainbridge Island, or explore the city&#8217;s many museums and art galleries.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Asheville_North_Carolina\"><\/span>Asheville, North Carolina<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Asheville is a charming town nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, known for its vibrant arts scene, craft breweries, and farm-to-table restaurants. You can also visit nearby attractions like the Biltmore Estate and the Appalachian Trail.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"San_Diego_California\"><\/span>San Diego, California<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>San Diego is a laid-back beach town with plenty of outdoor activities and cultural attractions. You can visit the famous San Diego Zoo, take a surf lesson, or explore the historic Gaslamp Quarter.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results\"><\/span>Survey Results<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>In a survey of 500 solo female travelers conducted by Solo Traveler World, the top factors that influenced their choice of destination were safety, affordability, and cultural attractions. Here are some other interesting findings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>57% of respondents said they prefer to stay in hotels or Airbnb rentals, while 31% opt for hostels.<\/li>\n<li>The most common activities for solo female travelers were sightseeing (94%), exploring local cuisine (87%), and visiting cultural attractions (84%).<\/li>\n<li>When asked about safety concerns, the top responses were theft (38%), harassment (33%), and assault (15%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Expert_Opinion\"><\/span>Expert Opinion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To get some expert advice on solo travel for women, I spoke with Jennifer Haddow, founder of Wild Women Expeditions, a company that specializes in adventure travel for women.<\/p>\n<p>I think the most important thing for solo female travelers is to trust their instincts, Haddow says. If something doesn&#8217;t feel right, it probably isn&#8217;t. It&#8217;s also important to do your research ahead of time and be prepared for any situation.<\/p>\n<p>Haddow recommends choosing destinations that are known to be safe for solo travelers, such as national parks or cities with a strong tourism industry.
