For example, I took a guided tour of the Amelia Island Lighthouse, which was built in 1839 and is still operational today. The views from the top are breathtaking, and the history behind the lighthouse is fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>I also went kayaking on the Amelia River, which runs through the heart of the island. It was a peaceful and scenic experience, with lots of wildlife to observe, including dolphins, manatees, and ospreys.<\/p>\n<p>Another highlight of my trips to Amelia Island was attending the Shrimp Festival, which takes place every year in May. It&#8217;s a fun and festive event, with lots of food, music, and arts and crafts vendors.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I love exploring the historic district of Fernandina Beach, which is the island&#8217;s main town.
