As someone who has visited this beautiful coastal town numerous times, I can assure you that there\u2019s no shortage of fun activities to enjoy here.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Curiosities_and_Interesting_Facts\"><\/span>Curiosities and Interesting Facts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Santa Cruz is known for its stunning beaches, boardwalk, and redwood forests.<\/li>\n<li>The town is home to a vibrant surfing community and has some of the best waves in California.<\/li>\n<li>The iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk has been a family-friendly destination since 1907.<\/li>\n<li>Santa Cruz is also home to the University of California, Santa Cruz, a world-renowned research institution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"1_Hit_the_Beach\"><\/span>1. Hit the Beach<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Santa Cruz is famous for its beaches, and for good reason. Whether you\u2019re looking to catch some waves or simply relax on the sand, there\u2019s a beach for every mood.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend checking out Cowell Beach, which is great for beginner surfers, or Natural Bridges State Beach, which is known for its stunning rock formations.<\/p>\n<p>Personally, I prefer Seabright State Beach, which is quieter and less crowded than some of the other beaches in town.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Visit_the_Santa_Cruz_Beach_Boardwalk\"><\/span>2. Visit the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>No trip to Santa Cruz is complete without a visit to the Beach Boardwalk. This iconic landmark has been entertaining visitors for over a century with its classic rides, games, and attractions.<\/p>\n<p>My favorite ride is the Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster that provides stunning views of the ocean.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Explore_the_Redwoods\"><\/span>3. Explore the Redwoods<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Santa Cruz is surrounded by beautiful redwood forests, and there are plenty of opportunities to explore them. One of the best ways to do so is by visiting Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park.<\/p>\n<p>You can hike through the towering trees, or take a scenic train ride through the forest. It\u2019s a great way to connect with nature and experience the beauty of Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Go_Surfing\"><\/span>4. Go Surfing<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As mentioned earlier, Santa Cruz is a surfer\u2019s paradise. Whether you\u2019re a seasoned pro or a beginner, there are plenty of opportunities to catch a wave.<\/p>\n<p>The best surf spots in town include Steamer Lane and Pleasure Point, but there are plenty of other options as well. Just be sure to check the surf report before you go!<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Visit_the_Santa_Cruz_Wharf\"><\/span>5. Visit the Santa Cruz Wharf<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Santa Cruz Wharf is a great place to spend an afternoon. You can stroll down the boardwalk, shop for souvenirs, and enjoy some fresh seafood.<\/p>\n<p>I recommend checking out Stagnaro Bros. Seafood, which has been serving delicious seafood dishes since 1937.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Take_a_Wine_Tasting_Tour\"><\/span>6. Take a Wine Tasting Tour<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Santa Cruz is home to some of the best wineries in California, and taking a wine tasting tour is a great way to experience them.<\/p>\n<p>One of my favorite wineries is Bargetto Winery, which has been producing award-winning wines since 1933. The tasting room is located in a beautiful historic building in downtown Santa Cruz.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"7_Visit_the_Seymour_Marine_Discovery_Center\"><\/span>7. Visit the Seymour Marine Discovery Center<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in marine life, the Seymour Marine Discovery Center is a must-visit. This interactive museum features exhibits on marine mammals, sea turtles, and more.<\/p>\n<p>You can also take a guided tour of the nearby Long Marine Laboratory, which is a world-renowned research facility.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"8_Go_Kayaking\"><\/span>8. Go Kayaking<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Kayaking is a great way to explore the rugged coastline of Santa Cruz. There are plenty of guided tours available, or you can rent a kayak and explore on your own.<\/p>\n<p>One of the best places to go kayaking is Elkhorn Slough, which is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including sea otters and harbor seals.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"9_Take_a_Hike\"><\/span>9. Take a Hike<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>With its beautiful coastline and redwood forests, Santa Cruz is a hiker\u2019s paradise.
