Magic Johnson
First up on my list is Magic Johnson. He revolutionized the point guard position with his size, skill, and versatility. At 6’9, he could play any position on the court and was a nightmare for opposing defenses. He won five championships with the Lakers and was a three-time NBA Finals MVP. He also won three regular season MVP awards and was a 12-time All-Star. Magic’s ability to see the court and make incredible passes was unmatched and he is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time.
John Stockton
Next on my list is John Stockton. He played his entire career with the Utah Jazz and was known for his incredible passing ability and tenacious defense. He holds the NBA record for most career assists and steals and was a 10-time All-Star. Stockton never won a championship, but he led the Jazz to the NBA Finals twice and was a key part of their success in the 90s. He was also known for his durability, playing in 1,504 out of a possible 1,526 games during his career.
Isiah Thomas
Coming in at number three is Isiah Thomas. He led the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990 and was a 12-time All-Star. Thomas was known for his toughness and competitiveness, as well as his ability to score and distribute the ball. He also had a reputation as a clutch performer, making big plays in important moments. Despite his smaller stature, Thomas was a force to be reckoned with on the court and is considered one of the best point guards of all time.
Stephen Curry
Number four on my list is Stephen Curry. He has revolutionized the game with his incredible shooting ability and has led the Golden State Warriors to three championships. He is a two-time regular season MVP and has made six All-Star teams. Curry’s ability to shoot from anywhere on the court has made him a nightmare for opposing defenses and he has helped usher in a new era of basketball where three-point shooting is king.

Finally, rounding out my top five is Oscar Robertson. He played in the 60s and was known for his incredible all-around game. He averaged a triple-double for an entire season and was a 12-time All-Star. Robertson won an NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks in 1971 and was a trailblazer for future generations of players. His versatility and skill set were ahead of his time and he is widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time.
