Unfortunately, there are only three known individuals left in existence – one in China and two in Vietnam.
I had the opportunity to see one of these turtles at the Suzhou Zoo in China. It was an incredible experience to see such a rare animal up close, and it reinforced the importance of conservation efforts to protect these animals from extinction.
