1. Visit the Tennessee Aquarium
The Tennessee Aquarium is an absolute must-see when visiting Chattanooga. It’s home to thousands of animals and plants from both freshwater and saltwater environments. I spent hours exploring the different exhibits and even got to pet a stingray!
2. Take a Stroll Across the Walnut Street Bridge
The Walnut Street Bridge is a pedestrian-only bridge that spans the Tennessee River. It offers stunning views of the city and is the perfect spot for a leisurely walk or bike ride. I walked across the bridge at sunset and it was truly breathtaking.
3. Explore Rock City Gardens
Rock City Gardens is a unique attraction located atop Lookout Mountain. It features massive rock formations, beautiful gardens, and even a waterfall. The highlight, though, is the breathtaking view of seven states from the top of Lookout Mountain. It’s a must-see!

The Incline Railway is the steepest passenger railway in the world and is a Chattanooga icon. It takes you up Lookout Mountain and offers incredible views of the city below. I was a little nervous at first, but it ended up being a highlight of my trip.

The Chattanooga Choo Choo is a historic hotel and entertainment complex that was once a bustling train station. It’s been beautifully restored and is now home to restaurants, shops, and even a music venue. I loved exploring the old train cars and imagining what it was like to travel by train in the 1940s.

The Creative Discovery Museum is a children’s museum that’s fun for all ages. It features interactive exhibits that teach kids about science, art, and history. I had a blast playing with the hands-on exhibits and even learned a thing or two.

The Chattanooga Nature Center is a beautiful nature preserve that’s perfect for a peaceful hike. It’s home to several different ecosystems and offers plenty of opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting. I saw several deer during my visit!

A riverboat cruise is a great way to see the city from a different perspective. There are several different cruises to choose from, including sightseeing cruises and dinner cruises. I opted for the sightseeing cruise and loved learning about the history of the river and the city.
