I typically start with 10-20 highly relevant keywords and then expand or refine the list based on the performance of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>I also prefer to use long-tail keywords, which are more specific and have lower competition, as they can often result in higher CTRs and conversion rates. For example, instead of using the broad keyword shoes, I would use a more specific long-tail keyword like men&#8217;s running shoes with arch support.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results_and_Data_Analysis\"><\/span>Survey Results and Data Analysis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A survey conducted by Search Engine Land found that 41% of advertisers use 1-10 keywords per ad group, while 28% use 11-20 keywords, and 18% use 21-50 keywords. The remaining 13% use more than 50 keywords per ad group.<\/p>\n<p>However, a study by Adalysis found that using too many keywords can lead to lower CTRs and higher CPCs.
