In particular, working in a nursing home can seem like an impossible task. However, I am here to tell you that with some perseverance and a bit of luck, it is possible to work in a nursing home with a felony.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Top_Curiosities_Statistics_Facts_and_Interesting_Information_About_Can_You_Work_in_a_Nursing_Home_With_a_Felony\"><\/span>Top Curiosities, Statistics, Facts, and Interesting Information About Can You Work in a Nursing Home With a Felony?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>According to a survey conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management, 92% of employers conduct criminal background checks on job candidates.<\/li>\n<li>Nursing homes are required by law to conduct background checks on all employees, including those with felony convictions.<\/li>\n<li>The decision to hire someone with a felony conviction is ultimately up to the individual nursing home.<\/li>\n<li>There are federal and state laws that govern the employment of individuals with criminal records, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.<\/li>\n<li>Many states have ban the box laws that prohibit employers from asking about criminal history on job applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Personal_Experience\"><\/span>My Personal Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When I was released from prison, I had no idea what my employment options would be. I applied for many jobs and was rejected from all of them. Finally, I found a nursing home that was willing to give me a chance. I started out as a janitor and worked my way up to a nursing assistant. It was not easy, but it was worth it. Working in a nursing home gave me a sense of purpose and allowed me to give back to my community.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results\"><\/span>Survey Results<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>A survey conducted by the National Employment Law Project found that individuals with criminal records are more likely to be unemployed or underemployed than those without criminal records.
