The study found that vegetable oil can provide similar levels of lubrication and wear protection as mineral oil-based lubricants.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Personal_Experience\"><\/span>My Personal Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Being the curious person that I am, I decided to try using vegetable oil as a lubricant for the bearings on my bike. I cleaned the old grease off the bearings and applied a small amount of vegetable oil. To my surprise, the bearings spun smoothly and quietly.
