We want to alleviate their discomfort as soon as possible, especially when they have a fever. One of the most common medicines prescribed by pediatricians is Tylenol or Motrin. However, many parents are confused about how often they can alternate these two medicines. In this article, I will share my experiences and research on the topic.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Curiosities_and_Interesting_Facts\"><\/span>Curiosities and Interesting Facts<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Many pediatricians recommend alternating Tylenol and Motrin to reduce fever in children.<\/li>\n<li>The active ingredient in Tylenol is acetaminophen, while Motrin&#8217;s active ingredient is ibuprofen.<\/li>\n<li>Acetaminophen and ibuprofen are both pain relievers and fever reducers.<\/li>\n<li>According to a survey by the American Academy of Pediatrics, 74% of parents alternate Tylenol and Motrin for their child&#8217;s fever.<\/li>\n<li>However, only 32% of parents are doing it correctly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"My_Experience\"><\/span>My Experience<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>When my son had a fever, I used to give him Tylenol every four hours, as per the instructions on the bottle. However, I noticed that his fever would spike again after a few hours. I spoke to our pediatrician, who recommended alternating Tylenol and Motrin every three hours. I tried it, and his fever came down much faster. Since then, I have been alternating Tylenol and Motrin for my children&#8217;s fever.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<section>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Survey_Results\"><\/span>Survey Results<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The American Academy of Pediatrics conducted a survey on over 1,000 parents to understand how they manage their child&#8217;s fever.
