Summary of the Book

Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines (2011) follows Sydney Sage, an Alchemist, who is tasked with protecting a Moroi princess named Jill Dragomir. Sydney’s job is to keep Jill safe from the Strigoi, the evil undead vampires that hunt Moroi. Sydney is faced with many difficult decisions and discovers truths about her past and her family. Along the way, she finds love, friendship, and loyalty in unexpected places.

Plot

Bloodlines follows Sydney Sage, an Alchemist, and her experiences as a guardian to the Moroi princess, Jill Dragomir. Sydney is a human, but she is able to use her alchemy to disguise her and others from the Strigoi, the evil undead vampires that hunt Moroi. Sydney is sent to Palm Springs, California, to protect Jill, and with the help of Adrian Ivashkov, a Moroi prince with whom Sydney has an undeniable connection, they discover secrets and truths about her past, as well as secrets that the Alchemists have been keeping.
